The Works

The contract consisted of the repairs and restoration of the grade 2 listed building’s external elevations. Due to the nature of the building, we had to carry out sections of replacement oak timbers to match existing plus timber resin repairs to those which were salvageable. Between the beams was lime render infill panels, which needed extensive re-rendering and cut back to allow for a new lead apron detail to be installed.

We also carried out works to repair/rebuild failed sections of the chimney stacks including the use of lime mortar. Overhaul of the Kent peg roof, repairs/replacement to the valley gutters, timber repairs to the existing windows and doors and the complete redecoration of the building.

Internally we carried out the conversion of an existing kitchen and WC into a new office on the first floor and the erection of new stud partitioning to both first and ground floor to suit the new layout/use. We also had to carry out works to extend the existing data network, fire alarm, power and light within the new areas formed.
